Physician’s Formula Matte Collection Quad Eye Shadows in Classic Nudes: Review and Swatches

Hey guys! I’ve got some eye shadow swatches for you today coming from Physician’s Formula.

Product: Physician’s Formula Matte Collection Quad in Classic Nudes

Price: $7.99

Amount of Product: 0.22 ounces

Animal Testing: Physician’s Formula is cruelty free

Everyone talks about how difficult it is to find matte eye shadows at the drugstore so when I saw these neutral, matte colors, I thought I’d give them a try. This quad is a nice addition to my little family of eye shadows since these shades are staple neturals. These are great neutral shades that are handy for blending or for creating a simple and very subtle eye looks. These will have the most impact on fair and light, maybe medium, skin tones, and you can see that overall, the swatches are very light. Unfortunately Physician’s Formula is not very inclusive of many skin tones including very fair but mostly deeper skin tones which is a huge negative. I find that these are most handy for blending, highlighting, or as transition shades.  I’ve used this quad a number of times, and the shades go on smoothly, blend easily, and have lasted well through the day using an eye primer.

  1. I bought this quad thinking the same thing – that mattes are so hard to find and that it would be super nice to have! I just haven’t used it really at all because I find that they’re on the harder side to apply and they just aren’t as nice and I originally thought they would be. I’m so disappointed, but I hope they come in handy soon. Have you found the same?

    1. Oh no, that’s a bummer! I’m sorry they haven’t worked out for you. I actually haven’t had that experience. They’re been really nice for me either for blending or transition colors or just doing a simple look. It’s crazy how the same thing works differently for different folks!

  2. Such a lovely quad! I think it’s very versatile! I haven’t really tried matte eyeshadows yet (I like a bit of shimmer on my eyes) but I’m actually wondering what it would look like so maybe if I see some matte looks I will buy some matte shadows too 🙂

    1. I agree! I’m exactly the same way. I always gravitate towards shimmer (and glitter) but tried an all matte look and thought it was a really nice effect for something different and smooth. Plus it’s just nice to have mattes for transitions and blending 🙂

      1. That’s exatcly what I was thinking, but I just needed that extra push to buy some mattes! 🙂 I’m actually going to look for some mattes when I’m in the drugstore next time!
