elf Baked Eye Shadows in Toasted and Burnt Plum: Review and Swatches

Hey guys! I have a quick post for you today to share some swatches of the two elf Baked Eye Shadows that I own. I have the shades Toasted and Burnt Plum.

Price: $3.00

Size: 0.12 ounces or 3.5 grams

Animal Testing: elf is a cruelty free brand

Both shades are metallic/shimmery, and these two in particular look beautiful paired together. I just love both of these colors. Toasted is a deep champagne and Burnt Plum is a plum/burgundy shade. My swatches below are dry over no primer, but baked shadows can also be used wet. These apply and build nicely, and I have also experienced good lasting power with these through the day (I use a primer.) I used Burnt Plum dry the other day, and it gives a beautiful satin, cranberry/plum look. And while applying Toasted dry also gives a nice shimmer, using it wet really enhances the metallic pop!

Let me know if you have any elf Baked Eye Shadows and how you like them!

Thanks for reading 🙂

  1. oooooh beautiful colors. I want them now. I know if they brought Elf stuff to NZ the markup price would be more than $15NZD lol

I think applying the pigments wet would give a beautiful “foil” effect 🙂

    Awesome blog 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! Man that’s crazy there is such a price difference-I wouldn’t be able to own any makeup with how expensive things seem to be! I totally agree, I’m just always too lazy to use them wet haha

      1. Haha yup. Everything here seems to get marked up by 300% (to me it seems that way lol). On the MAC site I saw lipsticks for $16USD, it costs us NZD$35+ here. Sucks man. I may need to move to a different country haha

      3. I checked but they dont. And I checked a NZ company that imports MAC from some supplier and the price of an unlimited lipstick was NZD $106. I said to myself, I ain’t paying that much, I’ll just find a dupe lol

  2. I have all of these and I love the colors and pigmentation, but I find that even with primer they fade significantly throughout the day. Do you have this problem? :\
