Hey friends! Welcome to another Music Inspired Makeup post. The others can be found here.
Today’s look was inspired by Muse’s Starlight.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgum6OT_VH8
My inspiration for this look was taken from the song title. I’ve been wanting to use some loose glitter for ages and when I heard Starlight, it made me think of stars in the night sky. I chose to go with a black base of shadow and then added a couple loose glitters to represent the stars. It’s quite a simple look, but spruced up with glitter. Hope you enjoy 🙂 All of the products used will be below!
NYX Pore Filler
Physician’s Formula Youthful Wear Foundation in Fair
Revlon Nearly Naked Powder in Fair
Bare Minerals Bronzer in The Skinny Dip
elf Studio Blush in Berry Merry
elf Shimmering Facial Whip-shade has rubbed away-it’s probably Pink Lemonade
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown
Jesse’s Girl Eye Shadow Primer
Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liner-I have a trio with Blue, Silver, and Black
- I used the black shade as an eye shadow base on the moving part of the eyelid. This makes a great, solid base but if you want to blend it, you need to do it quickly because it will set.
Wet n Wild Blue Had Me at Hello Palette-used black shades to top gel liner base and to blend out top of gel liner at the crease
Sonia Kashuk Eye On Neutral Matte Palette-used gray and black shades for crease blending-I wanted to use all black/gray shades since this was supposed to imitate the night sky. Also used lightest shade as brow highlight. I chose not to put any shadow on the lower lash line since the top was so dark and heavy!
elf Glitter Glue-patted light layer over eyelids with finger
LIT Cosmetics Glitter in Tinsel Town and Pure Ice Blue Glitter (no shade-found this randomly at Walmart quite some time ago)
Milani Lip Liner in Nude
Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in Rebel
Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Nude in waterline
Beautiful! I can’t figure out how black shadow myself but you’ve got it perfectly. And I love the sass that the glitter adds 🙂

Thank you so much! Just lots of and lots of blending between the black and gray is usually how I manage haha. And yes, glitter can never hurt 😉

So pretty! I rarely wear heavy makeup, even when I go out, but I might have to give this one a shot. And, excellent song choice 🙂

Thanks lovely! Yeah I love this song. I’ve been a bit back and forth on heavy makeup lately. I typically enjoy it but have definitely been on a more simple kick lately. Fun to try out both sometimes 🙂

What a unique idea you had there 🙂 I love to see how one thing sparks the inspiration for a completely different thing. Gorgeous makeup!

Aw thanks! Yeah it was actually super simple since I only used black for the most part. Didn’t have to worry about making a bunch of different colors mesh together perfectly haha.

I haven’t had the guys to experiment with glitter yet but you made it seem super easy so maybe I’ll give it a try 🙂

I say go for it! While I haven’t used it a ton yet, that elf Glitter Glue worked really well yesterday and it’s super inexpensive! Like 2 or 3 dollars I think so definitely not a scary investment. And I think doing a light layer like this was easy too because you just take tiny bits on your finger and it pats right on and sticks to the sticky base! I’ll look forward to seeing if you try out some glitter for sure 🙂

Awww thanks. I almost ordered it last time I got stuff from elf but chickened out. I heard their coming out with new items soon so I’ll def pick it up with my next order!

Yay, thank you!! I think I had mentioned on one of your posts where you did a lovely glittery eye how I had been wanting to use a glitter sometime soon haha. I only have a few different glitter colors and feel like I want every color now 😉
