Review, Swatches, and Eye Look: Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette

Hey friends! Today’s post is all about another bold and bright palette from Sugarpill-the Heart Breaker Palette. I bought this palette from Sugarpill’s website. The following introductory text is copied from my previous post about the Burning Heart Palette since the same information applies to both palettes (price, palette layout, etc.)

Price: $34

Amount of Product: 4 eye shadows at 0.12 ounces each, net weight of 3.5 grams

Animal Testing: Sugarpill is cruelty free

A note on the price of these products-at first glance, $34 seems like a pretty high amount to pay for four eye shadows. But keep in mind that these shadows are quite large! A single Sugarpill eye shadow contains 0.12 ounces of product and costs $12.  A MAC eyeshadow pan contains 0.05 ounces of product and costs $10.  If you bought two MAC eye shadows it would cost you $20, and you would still get slightly less product than a single Sugarpill shadow. Plus when you buy Sugarpill’s four pan palettes, the cost per shadow is $8.50 instead of $12 so that saves you a little more as well.

The palette is sturdy cardboard and features a mirror at the top.

Below are photos of each shade along with swatches. Swatches are one swipe of product over no primer or base.

The Heart Breaker Palette contains the colors Acidberry, Velocity, 2AM, and Mochi.  The color descriptions are taken from the Sugarpill website. While some shades are described as matte, you’ll notice from the pictures that some contain very fine shimmers. Despite that, these shades do come off as matte on the eye.

And here is a bold and crazy look I created using this palette! I used Milani’s Eye Shadow Primer as a base.

I was impressed with the pigmentation of these shades when I went to create this look. Similar to the Burning Heart Palette, I found these shades easy to build up, and they look vibrant on the eye. These colors seemed a little more powdery than those in the Burning Heart Palette, but I don’t find that to be a big issue. After washing the look off yesterday, I did not notice any staining on my eyes.

Not unlike the Burning Heart Palette, I’m so happy to have this! I’m really loving Sugarpill, and I think the brand as a whole from their cruelty free philosophy to their unique, bright products to their bold attitude is just so much fun.

Thanks so much for reading, and feel free to leave any questions or comments below!
