Need Your Help-Under Eye Concealer

Hey friends. I have a quick post today because I need YOUR help!

I will soon be running out of the under eye concealer I’ve been using, and I need to find something to replace it with since it was a product I purchased before going cruelty free.

I would love to hear your recommendations for a cruelty free under eye concealer with good coverage! My under eyes also tend to be quite dry in case that helps. I would definitely appreciate the help and would love to hear your suggestions šŸ™‚

  1. I am ALL about cruelty-free brands! A couple suggestions- IT cosmetics makes an amazing, two-sided concealer that has “bye bye under eyes” on one side, and an eye brightener on the other! It is my current fav…Also, Kryolan Concealer cubes are to DIE FOR! AMAZING! They are a bit pricier, but come with two shades of concealer (one great for concealing blemishes, etc and one great for highlighting) and also a powder that makes any makeup waterproof! The texture is sooo nice and it doesn’t take much..which is always nice! šŸ™‚ Hope this helps!

    1. Awesome! Thank you for the great suggestions. Ive heard some good things about the IT Cosmetics products. Ive definitely heard about Kryolan and wanted to try some things before but since it probably isnt as easily accessible as some other things, it doesnt seem to get mentioned much! Thanks for the input šŸ™‚

  2. There is a dozen great concealers in the world to try! Lately, since the on set of winter I have been partial to applying a combo of foundations to conceal my under eye.

I apply my BB Cream as my primary, per normal, then go in with a tiny concealer brush & a cream foundation and pat it out, then set it. And a good primer beforehand to ensure it doesnt have any creasing.

Have you tried using a yellow powder under your conceal to cancel out some of the dark purply color before applying concealer? On my sleepless days that really helps. šŸ™‚

    1. There really are huh?! Thats a good idea though! Although I have been wearing a powder foundation a lot of the time which looks crazy dry under my eyes which is probably why I didnt consider the foundation route haha. And I havent actually. Ive heard a decent amount about the effects of yellow, but I actually dont have any product like that! Id have to go find something which is certainly possible šŸ™‚ Thank you for all the feedback šŸ™‚

      1. Not a problem! Even if you have just a matte yellow shadow itll work in a pinch.

I know ELF sells an affordable color correcting palette, or at the very least they use to. And of course there are plenty of more expensive versions out there. šŸ™‚

        It really helps though!

Good luck! The Under eye struggle is very real for us girls! Lol

  3. I’m positive you’re going to have a 100 concealers to try!! NYX concealer in a jar and Hard Candy glamouflage have cheap concealers that are full coverage. But, as a someone who has dry skin as well, they both need a good moisturized base–as with anything makeup related to be honest!

    1. Haha so true! So many things out there. Thank you for the input! I should work on a good moisturizer for day time too since I also havent quite got that down perfectlty. Always so much to figure out hehe šŸ™‚

      1. Girl I know! You buy one thing then you realize you need another 100 things. Def invest in a good moisturizer–I think it maximizes a products benefits when your base is prepped and primed.

  4. I love the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye. There are a few different formulations. The one that has the best coverage (for me) is the one in the Blue Pot. They have it in a tube (haven’t tried that one yet) and they have a dual ended version called Eye Lift in a Tube that is dual ended with the concealer on one end and a highlighter on the other, that one is pretty good for light to average dark circles. I have also been using Bare Minerals Well Rested to set the Bye Bye Under Eye and I also use it alone. Both are great options!

    1. Thank you Amber! I had been thinking about this one too, and it made me think of you since I know you love IT Cosmetics and I thought you had mentioned liking their concealer! Thanks for the infomation though, I didnt realize there were so many formulations. I feel like I should check these ones out in person at the store so I can get a feel for the texture and colors and all that šŸ™‚

      1. I second the Bye Bye Undereye- it took me a while to get the hang of it, but if you properly blend it in with a brush you’ll be good to go (I’m soo used to applying/blending anything with just my finger)

      2. Thank you for the info! I have gotten the impression that this concealer is a pretty thick one. I also always blend under eye concealer in with my fingers so I’ll have to make sure I’ve got some brush options too!

      3. I have the little tube of the It Cosmetics Under Eye and I use it by blending (dabbing) it in with my fingers. It’s really thick but the instructions will tell you to warm it up first; I just put a dot on my ring fingers then press and rub them together. It gets softer and thinner and is easier to blend. I really love it because it’s water proof too.

    1. I havent but Ive heard a good amount about that! I know it’s pretty darn inexpensive (and I think its CF too) so I was thinkinf about trying that if I could ever find it in person šŸ™‚ Just easier than going online sometimes when you dont want to worry about shipping and all that haha šŸ™‚

      1. Right? I mean its definitely awesome to have access to literally anything online, but it always gets more costly since you usually have to spend 50 bucks for free shipping haha

      2. Yes and in South Africa its even worse. Always get so jealous of the awesome brands that are available in US/UK. *Tear* But we do have LA Girl, so I’ll get my hands on some and let you know if it’s worth all the hype.

  5. Too Faced, Giovanni, Juice Beauty, Eyelure, and Bare Minerals are all cruelty free from Ulta. Although the paremt company of Bare Minerals is not.

      1. Bare Minerals over all is a very good brand. Their makeup is focused on making your skin look like skin and give you the most natural finish with giving the coverage that you need. Xx

      2. I agree! Let me know when you find something good! There are loads of wonderful cocealers on the high end side, that are not completely cruelty free.

  6. I have tried the NYX concealers and reviewed them. I have dry skin and I don’t like them at all. My fav has to be Revlon Colorstay stick concealer in drugstore brands and Tarte stick concealer

      1. It’s amazing in my opinion. I feel like my under eyes are flawless when I use that because of the high coverage. And it’s only 6 bucks which is awesome :)) I can’t believe a big company like maybelline isn’t cruelty free..how sad!

      2. It really is! Hopefully one day things will change in the right direction šŸ™‚ That’s good to know! I actually think my sister has that concealer so I’ll have to check to see her thoughts about it too šŸ™‚

      1. I’m a big concealer aficionado. I have Italian skin, so my dark circles are pretty apparent. I’ve been loving Kiko Milano’s concealer in the compact. It just came to the states. It’s about 12 bucks. Not sure of their stance on animal testing, etc. it is the best I’ve used.

      2. Oh very interesting, good to know! I’ve heard of that brand before in a few different places but didn’t know it could be found in the states. I appreciate the input šŸ™‚

  7. Mac Studio Fix is my personal favourite I would recommend it! Or if you’re wanting to find one cheaper the Collection 2000 one is pretty good also šŸ™‚

    1. Hi Sarah! Unfortunately MAC isnt cruelty free (although Ive heard quite a few good things about their concealers) and as for Collection, I dont think we have that here in the US! We must be in different parts of the world haha šŸ™‚ Thanks for your input though!!

  8. Clinique’s Line Smoothing Concealer is the best I’ve ever used. It’s very thick and would cover anything, but it isn’t drying, and doesn’t feel like plaster.

SKAIK, they’re on the PETA approved list, but you’d have to check to be certain. Let us know what you end up choosing! ā¤

    1. Thank you for your input! Unfortunately I just checked and PETA as well as some of the bigger CF blogs out there say they do test (or sell in China where testing is required.) Appreciate the thought though! Ill definitely have to do an update with what I find out/choose though šŸ™‚

      1. Ah, that was it– I saw something about “only for legal requirements” but I assumed that applied to all manufacturers and was only for “medicinal” style products. I didn’t realize it meant cosmetics for companies selling in the Chinese market, but it’s good to know, so thanks for the heads up. x

    1. Ah yes, I have too for the most part! Although a little back and forth about how it may be drying under the eyes. But I also need something for the face too…it’s been a tempting one but Ive stayed away thus far due to the price haha

  9. I’m finishing up one of the stick concealers from Physicians Formula in light. It’s like $6.99 and not too bad but I’m going to be stalking your post to see what other recommendations flow in šŸ™‚ I give it a 4/5 though. It’s creamy and conceals fairly well without creasing or much fade. It lasts all day too. I don’t like how it smells like crayons but that doesn’t last long lol.
